A Summer Full of Answered Prayers 

When we sent our last newsletter, we were right in the middle of our summer outreach season. Now that our summer teams have officially wrapped up, we are so excited to share with you how this season came to an end—and, most of all, how faithful God has been through it all! 

We want to begin with joy and excitement in our hearts as we share some answered prayers that we mentioned in our previous newsletter. What a privilege it has been to watch God move in ways that only He can! 

Our last two summer teams from Eastanalle Babtist church from Tennessee and Acts  2 Worship Center from Florida, were filled with people who came with willing hearts, flexibility, and an abundance of God’s love. It was truly incredible to watch our participants, staff, and community come together with such synergy and harmony—a beautiful picture of what the Holy Spirit can do when we are all willing to serve together. For many of our participants, experiences like these are part of what makes serving in the Dominican Republic Bateyes so meaningful. They provide an opportunity to step outside of our everyday routines, serve alongside others, and see firsthand how God is working in communities around the world..

Throughout this summer season, we have also witnessed something very special: language does not have to be a barrier when it comes to meaningful relationships and life-changing interactions. And the cherry on top was seeing God provide participants who were fluent in Spanish, including Haitian-American participants who spoke both Spanish and Creole. 

This was especially meaningful for our older community members, many of whom feel much more comfortable communicating in their native language. Seeing them interact directly with participants—without someone having to translate in between—and sharing the love of God with one another was an incredible blessing. These moments reminded us that God can use every gift, every language, and every person to make His love known. 

Another Answered Prayer: Summer Staff 

In our previous newsletter, we also shared how God had answered our prayers by providing summer staff. It has been such a blessing to watch Rachel and Abby love and serve the community of Vasca throughout the summer. 

We have seen them grow not only in their service to others, but also in skills and experiences that we believe they will carry with them for the rest of their lives, wherever God leads them. 

Our prayer for them is that they will continue growing in wisdom, humility, and love for everyone they encounter and serve throughout their professional careers. 

And speaking of summer staff… applications for Summer Staff 2027 are now open! 

If you are a student and God has placed a desire in your heart to serve Him, we invite you to prayerfully explore this opportunity. You never know how God might use a summer of serving in the Bateyes to shape the rest of your story! 

Outreach 2027: Another Answered Prayer 

In our last newsletter, we also shared that the dates for our 2027 outreaches were officially available. We are so excited to tell you that this has been another answered prayer! 

As of today, only three dates remain available for 2027! 

This has allowed us to take a big step forward in preparing for the future. We are praying and working toward having a space that is more than just a place we temporarily rent to host teams. Our hope is to have a space where our local staff can grow together, where teams can be welcomed and served even better, and where the ministry in the Bateyes can continue to grow for years to come.

We could keep going, because there is truly so much to thank God for. He has been faithful, kind, and abundantly good to us throughout this season. 

But we want to close simply by saying thank you. 

Thank you to everyone who has prayed, given, served, encouraged, visited, and walked alongside us in this mission in the Bateyes. This ministry would not be possible without your support and faithful partnership. 

Thank you for allowing God to use you as an instrument in His work. We are deeply grateful to have you as part of what He is doing here.
