If you’re looking to discover your true calling in life, an SI mission is for you.

Helping without Hurting

You’ve heard the news: short-term mission trips often do more harm than good to the communities they serve. That’s why SI is different.

Every student who serves with us joins a full-time missionary who is hard at work sharing Christ in the community year-round. Our students don’t take jobs away from local laborers, but meet real needs that couldn’t be met without their help.

What’s an SI mission like?
It’s like nothing you’ve ever experienced. Real people. Real needs. Real work. Real transformation.

  • I saw God working in our students lives as they encountered Costa Ricans and wrestled with the face of poverty.

    Charlie Goeke Wheaton College, IL
  • SI provides a life-changing outreach experience for our students.

Steve Duyst Pastor Tulare Community Church, CA
  • I learned to be joyful regardless of my situation. I learned compassion and how to value others the way Jesus does.

    Allison Nelson Bethel University, MN
  • I experienced the love of God in a whole new way and it definitely confirmed my call to missions.

Mieka Gordon Student Joshua Wilderness Institute, CA
  • My experience in Guatemala was amazing. It was such a blessing to interact with a family and learn about Guatemalan culture. I love the work we did and seeing how it fit into the bigger picture of what God is doing in Guatemala.

Andrew Grigg James Madison University, VA
  • After being here in the DR, God has been showing me through the SI staff what true ministry is all about. Ministry is about relationships, not just tasks. And even more than that—about being open to God using you in whatever way possible.

    Nick Zavala Gateway Church, CA
