- Site Description:
- Our Ag and Vet site exists to meet the small and large animal needs of our communities while building long-lasting relationships through discipleship. Some of the days, Meme will attend to small animal problems, seeing dogs, cats, chickens, and even goats. On other days, Meme will walk out into the community to meet with farmers to care for their larger animals, mainly cows, pigs, and horses. On the agricultural side, we work with a group of men who have planted Avocado trees on their properties. These men have worked since 2014 to cultivate avocados and meeting their goal of producing the best avocados in the region. Serving in this site will require significant amounts of walking.

- Site Description:
- The Girls Club site works with teenage girls and young single mothers in Magdalena, El Gorrión, and San Miguel. We offer various beauty classes and classes for macrame for the girls to learn practical skills, while also sharing the Gospel to see them transformed. We desire to see girls become confident in who God has made them to be and grow in wisdom and maturity. As part of this site, we will be running our Girls Club every week, where school-aged girls from the community attend to listen to devotions, play games, do crafts, and build community.

Microfinance

- Site Description:
- Team Members will have the opportunity to work in all aspects of the micro-loan program. This will include encouraging and praying for borrowers through home visits, assisting in loan applications, payment collections, and leading bi-weekly Bible studies. SI provides support to the borrowers, so Team Members may also help with hands-on projects such as chicken vaccinations, chicken coop construction, and more. This lending program focuses primarily on women and families in Magdalena, El Gorrion, and San Miguel by extending loans of $100 – $500 for income-generating projects. Through the loans, SI hopes to help families on their journey out of poverty and to empower them for future success.

- Site Description:
- Similar to other organizations, Students International has a sponsorship program that allows people the opportunity to sponsor children from Guatemala. This program is active in several schools in and around Magdalena. Sponsored children receive benefits, including help with tuition, school uniforms, health care, dental care, eye care, school supplies, and more. The sponsorship team will visit the schools and homes of sponsored children, put together special meeting or parties, and help the teachers and parents to provide improved education and care for the children. The sponsorship team may help teach Nutritional Workshops at the Community Center and assist with office work related to running the program. Building relationships with the children and their families during home visits is a fundamental aspect of the sponsorship site and participants will be active in following up on the medical, educational, and spiritual needs of the children.

- Site Description:
- The goal of our Women's Social Work site is to see women transformed by the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We desire to see their quality of life improved, to see them actively participating in various projects that are focused on helping the needs of their community and families, and to help those that have been through various forms of abuse and neglect. In this site students will assist Victoria in reaching the women of El Gorrion and the surrounding communities through home visits, group meetings/counseling, sowing classes, haircutting classes, beauty classes, various educational meetings, and much more.

- Site Description:
- The Special Education site is a professional service center for people with special needs in Magdalena and the surrounding villages. Our center is located in the middle of Magdalena Milpas Altas. We provide special education, physical therapy, occupational therapy, spiritual development, and emotional care. Participants will have the opportunity to participate directly with the patients by encouraging them in developing new skills. Participants will help to organize and lead activities (games, songs, readings, and other stimulation activities), to form and develop relationships. Another important part of this ministry is visiting the patients and their families in their homes. Our hope and prayer is to see these people and their families transformed into the likeness of Christ.

- Site Description:
- The Sports site works with kids and youth in Magdalena, San Miguel, Buena Vista, and El Tablón. This site incorporates a variety of recreational activities with the goal of teaching, mentoring, and ultimately seeing the lives of young people changed for Christ. The site incorporates baseball, soccer, track and field, and badminton into the program. Interns will build relationships while playing sports, assisting in coaching exercises, and participating in devotionals with the various groups of young people. As part of our sports ministry, we will be running our Boys’ Club every week, in which the boys in the community will attend to listen to devotions, play games, and have time of fellowship.

- Site Description:
- The trade school is an avenue to build relationships and share the gospel. Through this trade school, men of all ages from the communities of Magdalena, El Gorrión, and San Miguel will have the opportunity to learn practical skills, working with carpentry, welding, and glasswork. We have started an Aquaponics project that we hope will be fully operational this year. This will allow us to begin to explore how we can grow fish and vegetables in more urban environments, like on the roof of a house or in a small yard. Interns will participate in the trade school classes, home visits, and sharing devotionals.
