Over the last two months, I’ve familiarized myself with two new communities, Vista Alegre and Las Azucenas, located around 5 kilometers southwest of Masaya city. The name Vista Alegre, which translates to Joy View, encapsulates the scenic beauty of Santiago volcano and the Masaya lagoon visible from there.

My work involved getting to know the local farmers by visiting them individually. I found all the farmers to be incredible individuals, eager to learn new agricultural techniques. I also became privy to their personal needs and their spiritual aspirations. These visits also paved the way for making new friends, one of whom is an 85-year-old man, Rodolfo Artola. Rodolfo, a widowed father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, began working in agriculture at a tender age of 10. Today, his favorite crop is the tomato, but he aspires to grow pineapples, a crop he’s never planted before.

Rodolfo’s spiritual journey involves his family embracing Christianity. I urge you to join us in praying for Rodolfo’s family and his agricultural aspirations. The agriculture department is brimming with individuals like Rodolfo, each with unique dreams and aspirations. I hope that they all find Christ in their hearts and achieve their dreams on this earth. Please join me in praying for them.
