After eight months of being here with us, our Global Bridge students left on May 6th. Looking back over the time they spent here, we are so incredibly proud of each and every one of them. When they first arrived in August, they were so eager to learn and to serve. Questions about Spanish and both the Dominican and Haitian cultures were abundant as they integrated into life here in the ministry and started working at their sites. Not only did they serve in the education and healthcare sites in expected ways, but they went above and beyond, bringing in their God-given skills to further spread the Gospel and share Jesus’ love. They brought worship sessions to homes in the community, started teaching a woman that helps at our clinic how to read, used their artistic talents to paint the walls of our preschool with Bible stories, used their love for the Haitian culture and knowledge of Haitian-Creole to better connect with the Haitian community, organized the clinic’s pharmacy, and used their sweet, gentle spirit to be a steady and calming presence for their site leaders in moments of chaos and tiredness.

Students, you loved and served so, so well. You invested in and lifted up not only your site leaders and the community, but our hired, national staff as well as each other. Your ministry didn’t stop at the end of the site day. Rather, you continued being a light to everyone around you no matter what time of day it was or how you were feeling. You truly brought so much joy into the small and big moments alike. So, for everything, we thank you. Every one of you were such an incredible blessing to all of us this year.

Please keep these Global Bridge students in your prayers as they go back to their hometowns and families, integrate back into the American culture, and start preparing for whatever God calls them to next. He will use them greatly, wherever they are, and we can’t wait to see how He does so to further His Kingdom.
