Wow! What a crazy and challenging year. We all have a list of things we never thought we’d do like, fill our glove box with a stash of face masks or social distance to be sure family and friends stay safe; I know many of you are still facing uniquely difficult obstacles.
For Students International, the top challenge on our list was a big one: A Year with No Teams!
For 30 years, we’ve served alongside 25,000 students from all over the United States. But this year, we had no choice but to watch outreaches for 1,000 student missionaries cancel. And that’s not all. The funds raised when students and people like you serve on a trip pay for ministry site expenses and help cover salaries for in-country staff. The Year with No Teams left us with a $250,000 hole in our budget. But God used you to do something incredible. YOUR GIVING this year completely filled that gap! Praise God!!
Thanks to you, ministry sites across our 4 countries stayed open and served however they could to meet the needs of the poorest of the poor. Communities you’ve served in like El Callejon, Los Guido, Valle de Volcan, and El Gorrion (and so many others)!
I want you to know just how thankful I am for the SI Family and your generous giving to support communities you know and love as much as I do. As we look to the new year, would you prayerfully consider a year-end gift?
The reality is that The Year with No Teams is going to continue into 2021. That means another $250,000 hole in our budget. But here’s the great news. We have a 100% match for every gift we receive by year’s end, up to $150,000! If you’re able, would you consider a gift of $5000, $1000, $500, or $100? That gift will DOUBLE if you give before January 1st.
Again, thank you so much for your prayers and your generous giving to sustain ministry in the hard-to-reach communities we serve together. May the love of Christ be with you and your family this Holiday Season.
