Katherine Rijo

Katherine is from Santo Domingo, DR. She first discovered the joy of serving by working with children and teenagers at her church. Later, as a designer and while working in customer service, she continued to live out her passion for helping others with empathy and care. She also has a special love for photography and videography, which she used while serving at the Media Site in Santiago, telling stories that inspire and touch hearts. In addition, she trained as a Spanish teacher for foreigners and had the opportunity to teach students in the Global Bridge program who came to serve in the community. Walking alongside these students sparked in her a deep passion for guiding and encouraging others in their cross-cultural journeys.

Katherine and her husband John are deeply grateful for the years of ministry in Santiago, and now God has placed a new calling on their lives—serving the Haitian communities in the bateyes. John and Katherine desire to offer their hearts and talents to serve these communities, walking in love and faith as they continue to follow God’s call.
