Today’s story of encouragement comes from the Sports Site in Guatemala.
In the community of El Tablón is a 9 year old boy named Dario Lobos Ramos.
Dario comes from a LARGE family. When I say large, I mean he has 8 siblings! He is the second to youngest child in the family. At the beginning of the year, Dario came to the site wanting to play baseball with the other kids. He has been faithfully coming to the site and is now a part of our soccer team without ever missing a training session.
Children at this age are like little sponges. They soak in information, language and actions that are around them. Dario would react to situations that were not the outcome he wanted with profanity and violence. We have been teaching him about how Jesus responded to all situations and the Jesus teaches us how we should respond in all circumstances. Through this teaching and Dario using sports to put his energy into, we have seen a change. He is learning the importance of trusting in Jesus, how to respect others and how to have fun while doing so!
God is on the move and is using sports to change lives. Join us in prayer that we would continue to see growth in the kiddos that come to this site and that each and every kid would accept Jesus into their heart.
