We hope this update finds you well. As we look back on recent months, we are filled with gratitude for all that God is doing among the children and youth in our community in Guatemala. Your prayers and support make it possible for us to continue walking alongside them, sharing God’s Word, and encouraging them to grow in their faith.

Since the pandemic, God has given us the privilege of walking with several children who are now teenagers and continue to join us faithfully every Wednesday. We are deeply thankful for the opportunity to teach the Bible, model godly values, and encourage them to discover who Jesus is in their lives.

One of these young people is Alis. She first began coming to our gatherings in the afternoons while she was still in elementary school, since her classes were in the mornings. Alongside Álvaro (our field director) and her classmates, she started learning watercolor techniques. At first, she was very quiet and reserved, though always kind when we visited her home.

Today, Alis is in middle school and now attends our group in the mornings. I wasn’t sure if she would be able to continue with her new schedule, but every Wednesday she was there—leaving at 11 a.m. so she could prepare for her afternoon classes. Her perseverance has been such a blessing to witness!

The greatest surprise came when Alis voluntarily began praying during our devotionals—something that can be quite challenging for teenagers. Then one Wednesday, she approached me and said, “Teacher, I want to lead the devotion next week with another classmate. Is that okay?” My heart overflowed with gratitude as I replied, “Of course!” That following week, she shared about living one day at a time, growing in faith, and seeking God more deeply.

Glory to God for what He is doing in Alis’ life! She has shared with us how much she has learned through the group: the importance of seeking God, reading the Bible, and learning to forgive. Recently, she even asked me for a devotional book—and when I checked back, she had already started reading it.

We believe God is continuing to touch and transform Alis’ life, and we are grateful for the chance to witness this firsthand. Please keep Alis in your prayers, as well as the many other young people in our group. We know there are countless more stories of transformation yet to come.
