The beginning of 2021 looks much different than in previous years. However, we are blessed to continue finding ways to serve God in the communities to bring light and hope. Today’s exclusive comes from our Semester Program in Costa Rica!
On January 6th, SI Costa Rica welcomed three semester students from two new universities! They will be learning Spanish, studying, and serving in Costa Rica until the end of April! Students live in carefully selected host homes within a short bus ride of their language school and ministry sites. The program is uniquely structured to marry academic coursework to real-life immersion in host homes and the community. In the same vein, a course on transformational development is taught in the classroom and practically applied and modeled in ministry sites.
Our staff is passionate about mentoring and discipleship and is eager to foster a Christ-centered community. Rigorous academics, meaningful vocational ministry, and Christ-centered community set the stage for students to holistically experience the transformational impact of the Gospel in diverse contexts.
Britney Villhauer is our new Director of Academic Programs! A few years back, Britney worked with Students International in Guatemala. Fortunately for us (and our students), God saw fit to send her our way once again! She teaches our semester students’ courses, facilitates bible studies, and continues to develop and refine our semester program!
This last week, our semester students have started classes, moved into host homes, toured San Jose, and participated in SI’s Costa Rican Culture Night!
