Today’s story comes from the English Tutoring Center in Nicaragua. The tutoring center supports students in learning English a couple days a week who do not otherwise have the financial resources to go to an academy to study. The site is also used to strategically reach youth with The Good News of salvation. A young girl that participates in the site wanted to share her story with you!

“Hello, my name is Adriana Espinoza Rodríguez. I am 17 years old and I am so excited to share my story with you! I come from a single parent home. It was just my mom and two sisters growing up. My mom is someone I look up to because she has fought so hard to overcome many situations in her life. She provided the best she could for us kids and sent us to school every day. I studied hard and graduated high school in 2021. I had a huge desire to go to college to become a professional. I thought this would be a good way to help provide for my family. I applied twice but was not accepted into the program. I felt so frustrated and helpless because I did not think I was going to accomplish my dream of becoming a professional.
I am so blessed because my mom and my sisters encouraged me and pushed me to still pursue my dream. One of my sister’s friends told me about this English program in Nindiri at Students International. I decided I would go and get a little more information about the tutoring center. I found out that they offered scholarships for people in the communities around the base. I decided I would take an English course. In 2022 I started studying in the beginner level English class.
For the last year and a half, I have been studying and I am one step closer to accomplishing my dream of becoming a professional. I am so grateful for Students International and for Mr. Delgado who took the time to teach me. I am feeling confident in my English. Not only have I learned English, but I have also encountered Jesus! I have gained knowledge and values to live a life according to the scriptures.”
We love hearing the personal stories of how God is on the move and we hope you do as well! Join us in praying that more lives would be changed in this capacity. That students would not only learn a second language but that they would come to know Jesus!
Grateful for you,
The SI Team
