As the pandemic continues and countries begin to open back up, our work in each base is looking different every week. However, we are blessed to continue finding ways to serve God in the communities to bring light and hope. Today’s story comes from Gaby Escobar, serving in Guatemala at our Special Education Site!

One challenge faced by our students and their families has been a lack of food. Many families have lost work due to the pandemic, and we have been blessed to have been able to provide food for our families on three different occasions. Brenda and I have been able to support and help the 23 families whom we serve regularly.

Family visits have looked very different, and recently, the government lightened some of the restrictions, which allowed us to visit families again. We took all of the precautions necessary to ensure safety, and the families were happy to see us. We have been able to do discipleship with the students and their parents through Zoom and WhatsApp videos. One thing we asked the students to do was to color a picture based on what God was teaching them through the lesson. Here are some pictures of what they drew.

Even though it has been difficult, we have continued to work hard to connect with and disciple the students we work with!
