God always surprises us with powerful stories of transformation. Each person has something to share—and what a joy it is when their story reflects God’s goodness!
Today we want to introduce you to Fernando, a young man from Antigua Guatemala who now lives in Magdalena Milpas Altas. Fernando met Jesus when he was just 7 years old while studying at a Christian school. His mom, who later became a teacher at the same school, still works there today—and he continues to live with her.
One day, while we were passing out flyers promoting our Barista course at the Trade School site, Fernando reached out. He joined the class taught by Professor Luis, where he not only learned about coffee, but also about God’s Word and built meaningful friendships.Earlier this year, we felt led to invite Fernando to continue in the Trade School—this time in our Carpentry course. He accepted and has bee
n faithfully attending ever since. Through both hands-on training and weekly devotionals, Fernando continues to grow in his skills and in his relationship with God.
Fernando is a passionate and diligent young man. He also serves at his church in a community outreach group, studies Clinical Psychology at the university, and takes music lessons—including violin and voice. On top of that, he teaches art and sign language, creates crafts and decorations, and uses these skills to help pay for his studies.
His heart is full of gratitude and purpose. He dreams of one day opening
 a clinic to help others, and hopes to bless his mother by building her a more comfortable home.
Fernando’s journey has included both joy and hardship, but through it all, God has been faithful. His life is a beautiful testimony that even in the toughest seasons, God never fails. He is our Friend, Father, Savior, and the One who knows the deepest desires of our hearts.
