139 Letter from the president

Greetings to you in the joyous holiday season! I just returned from Guatemala where we celebrated the dedication of the El Gorrion Community Center. I wish that all of you could have been there to see the new building decked out for its inaugural day! There were over 80 of us including staff from each of the SI countries, staff from the International Service Center and some local dignitaries that joined the Guatemalan staff and community on this special day. Each phase of this building project was prayed for, and to celebrate in the completion of the building was quite a thrill. The building will serve in many ways to the people of El Gorrion, Magdalena, and other surrounding communities.

It was during this exciting weekend that we also had the opportunity to hear reports on the amazing things God is doing through the dedicated staff and outreach participants of SI in all of the countries of ministry. What a testimony to the dedicated workers who serve tirelessly in carrying out the mission and vision of SI in the building of our Lord’s Kingdom. This incarnational ministry is a beautiful picture of the Christmas story. God became man and lived among us. Ultimately, He gave His life that we may experience life everlasting.

We are reminded during this holiday season that all of this ministry would not be possible without your support. To those who regularly make a donation to SI, I sincerely thank you.To those that may be looking for a new opportunity to support us, could I ask you to consider a year-end gift this month? I realize that we are all surrounded by incredible financial need, so I ask this very humbly and that you would prayerfully consider this. If you would like to mail in a donation our address is listed below, or you can call our Service Center for further information.

May God richly bless you and your family this Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Savior.
