Meet Evelyn Escobar, a woman from the community of Magdalena Milpas Altas. We had the honor of meeting her for the first time in April 2024 at a meeting of entrepreneurs. Evelyn showed interest and enthusiasm for the training course that took place between April and August, which aimed to teach people how to start and manage a business from scratch. We started with about 42 people but only 9 managed to finish the course and Evelyn was one of them.

In case you didn’t know it yet, the Microfinance Site transitioned this 2024, nowadays, we don’t only work with loans, but we also provide training in financial management and advice in personal finance, creation of a business model and marketing to create entrepreneurships.

During these months, we have accompanied Evelyn in different moments, from the beginning of the course, during the formulation of her business plan, prototyping and establishing a business model. But when we met Evelyn, we saw a woman who needed support in different areas of her life, a woman full of dreams, ideas, knowledge, different skills and talents, but at the same time a woman who needed people who believed in her. God allowed us to visit her, to encourage her, to exhort her and to believe that God has a perfect plan for her life, we know that God gave us the opportunity to meet Evelyn with a purpose and we believe that God showed her that He cares for her life and that He sent us to be a support in difficult moments.

Currently, Evelyn has strengthened her faith and through the visits we have been able to pray for her, read specific verses to strengthen her life in Christ, encourage her and let her know that God loves her.

Evelyn is a small business owner whose goal is to create a coffee shop and handicraft shop in Magdalena Milpas Altas, however, this is a long term vision, but while this dream is being fulfilled, we have supported her to start an informal and itinerant business where she is learning to perfect the techniques and flavors of her products. We pray that God will give us the opportunity to see this dream come true in the future and continue to impact the lives of the people God has given us the privilege to serve and see a transformation in their lives.
