The beginning of 2021 looks much different than in previous years. However, we are blessed to continue finding ways to serve God in the communities to bring light and hope. Today we are hearing from our staff in Nicaragua!
This pandemic has caused many of us to re-evaluate what we do and how we do it. We shared in our last post from Nicaragua about not focusing on what we can’t do but paying attention to the things that we can do. We truly miss not having teams with us, as that’s a big part of what we do. We are thankful for the deeper relationships we can form because we have more intentional time with people.
This past month, we were able to host an activity for the local pastors within the communities where we work. We asked all of our staff members, spread out in different communities, to invite the local pastors to a fellowship time together. Many of our staff were able to help us set up and run the event.
We had 16 different churches represented in one place. We had a time of worship, games, teaching, and then we gave out gifts and a basket of non-perishable food items to each pastor. We took time to explain who we are as an organization and how we want to advance the Kingdom and help them do the same.
Many local pastors have full-time jobs and live outside of the communities where they pastor, so it is difficult for us to find time together. The time spent together was to help network with them and was hopefully the first of many encounters where we can encourage the local pastors and collectively expand the Kingdom of God.
Please pray for the local pastors to be encouraged and provided for in every sense of the word. Pray that new relationships are started, and existing relationships are deepened.
