Joyful Gathering

As the pandemic continues and countries begin to open back up, our work in each base is looking different every week. However, we are blessed to continue finding ways to serve God in the communities to bring light and hope. Today’s story comes from our staff in Guatemala. In the middle of...

God's Provision

Today's story comes from Gaby Escobar, serving in Guatemala at our Special Education Site! Working with Special Needs children during this season has been challenging, but we have seen God's provision throughout. One challenge faced by our students and their families has been a lack of food. Many families have lost work due to the pandemic, and we have been blessed to have been able to provide food for our families on three different occasions.

Refuge and Strength

During this time of staying home due to the pandemic situation, our Women's Social Work Site has had the opportunity of ministering women through phone Bible Studies. God has been good, and we have witnessed how faith has grown in women's hearts and have enjoyed answers to their prayers.

Leadership and Connections in Guatemala!

Amid this COVID season, there has been much need in our communities. During this pandemic, we have seen God's provision and have seen him touch others' hearts to help their community. Some leaders, pastors from the community, along with some of our staff, have been involved in helping through the packing and distributing of food to those in need.

Spreading the Good Word through Technology

We've been particularly encouraged by how Steven and Raquel, our Sponsorship Site leaders, have made it possible to connect with their students over Zoom. Their weekly clubs and meetings have shifted to group video chats and phone calls instead of the traditional in-person meetings. Last week, Raquel received a text from a student asking for help in how to accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior...

Cooking Towards a Better Future

Earlier this month at our Special Education site in Guatemala, we had our first official cooking class with the students! You may be wondering– what’s so exciting about a cooking class? Well, we believe that teaching these skills can have a long-term impact on the community and on...

This one's for the dreamers.

Today we have Steven Hinkeldey, co-leader of the sponsorship site in Guatemala, sharing a story about one of the students in the program.  Saidy has been in our program since she was in the fourth grade. She is now sixteen years old and is going into her first year...
