Pat is a retired Spanish teacher, committed to sharing the gospel to the ends of the earth. In addition to a degree in Spanish, Pat studied lingustics for the MA degree and taught several years in the ESL program at a local community college. Her interest in languages began as a child traveling with her father and meeting many of his associates who came to their home from multiple foreign countries. Her connection with Students International began as she was a Spanish teacher at a local Christian high school and she met Chuck Ellis and joined him and others on a vision tour to Guatemala almost 30 years ago. Understanding the unique vision of SI for student short term missions, she has been an eager supporter of “doing missions differently” and “helping without hurting” in disadvantaged communities in Latin America. In addition to leading multiple teams on outreaches, Pat served for several years teaching Spanish in SI’s Global Bridge college program.
