Today’s encouraging story comes from the Sponsorship and Education in Guatemala.

Sponsorship and Education is a program that seeks to provide comprehensive development (education based on Christ-centered principles and valves) for the children of Magdalena Milpas Altas. It supports the kids by giving them the materials that they need to go to school and to study, as well as giving tutoring for the classes that students need extra help in this program we have boys and girls who work to learn and complete their studies.

We thought we would let Jennifer, a former student, share about her time through our sponsorship program.

Hello, my name is Jennifer Meza. I am 18 years old. It is an honor for me to tell you about my experiences in SI Guatemala. I was accepted into the sponsorship program when I was 6 years old, so for 12 years, I have belonged to this wonderful family, SI Guatemala has contributed to the community on Maleneca by helping to create youth of excellence though scholarships to motivate students to persevere in their academic pursuits. Si Guatemala has helped me through the years to reach my goals in both the academic and personal spheres. The economic support they have supplied has helped me pay my school expenses. Thanks to them, this year I have completed one of my greatest goals, which was to graduate with a degree in Business Administration. Thanks to the advice and motivation they gave me every time I visited, I have already achieved great things in my life. When I felt like giving up, they reminded me how strong and capable I was. I know that I am not the only one who is immensely grateful to SI Guatemala. They have transformed the lives of many other young people who are now great professionals thanks to the help they received each day.

The Association is one of the best sponsorship programs because they didn´t just help me financially but personally as well, I say this because they always had advice for me or wanted to talk with me in order to help me be the best I could be. They taught me so much about trusting God and knowing that his plans are always perfect.

From day one I have entrusted my plans to Him. Thanks to Students International, I Know who God is. Through them I understand the purpose my life has in Him, and I Know more about his word.
