Married? Kids? What are you doing for work?
Not married. No kids. I’m a licensed social worker! Working in downtown Minneapolis with the homeless population! Going back to school this fall for my masters in social work to continue working as a social worker and add addiction counseling into my wheelhouse as well ◡̈
What was the highlight of the GB for you?
The highlight of GB for me, apart from all of the lifelong friendships, was the experience of living in and experiencing a new culture. Learning Spanish was one of my favorite things, alongside working with Jhanna in the clinic and growing relationships with the community. I loved that we were able to take trips and grow our understanding and love of the country.
How has the GB experience impacted your life?
GB has greatly impacted me. It changed my perspective on how I view the world and grew my love for the Dominican culture. Since this experience, I have become close to fluent in Spanish which has significantly supported my career and the ability to interact with and support others.
Global Bridge Students are Going Places, Can You Help Them Get There?
“Vern” the van, used for teams and Global Bridge transportation, has seen its last days with SI. This van is the original one we purchased used when SI first started the Global Bridge in the DR. Losing Vern is a hard hit to staff and students, as many of you have seen first-hand how important it is to have reliable transportation for our teams!
