Darin Mather is passionate about missions and study abroad, which makes Students International an amazing place for him to work. He first learned about SI in the late 1990's when he was working as a missions pastor and study abroad director at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. While at Bethel he helped develop SI's first study abroad program--the Guatemala Term, which is still running today. That program got him hooked and he's been connected with SI in one way or another ever since.
Darin currently serves as SI's Director of Academic Programs overseeing academic partnerships between SI and other universities. He also works with SI's own Global Bridge program.
Darin has a Master of Divinity from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Minnesota. He specializes in studying ways that faith-based groups do international development. In addition to his work with SI, Darin also serves as an Assistant Professor of Global Studies and as Social Sciences Program Chair in the School of Online Studies at Crown College in St. Bonifacius, MN.
Darin is married to Sue, who is a school nurse. He has two teenaged boys who are active in sports, which keeps him active too! They all live in St. Paul, MN. Darin enjoys reading, running, travel and any sort of outdoor activity.
