Amanda is from Wisconsin, or so they say here, quesolandia or land of cheese. Since I was young I had a desire to study Spanish. Then after graduating with a degree in health promotion and wellness with a minor in Spanish, I did a discipleship program during which we went on a two week trip through Students International and fell in love with how they do missions. The rest is history, and I arrived in February of 2017.
I am working on creating a new community and environmental health ministry in all three of the communities we work in, Los Guido, La Capri, and Las Fuentes. The programs we are working on are with various age groups ranging from elementary school kids in an environmental education program to grandmothers in a cooking and health group.
Staff with Students International raise all of their own financial support in order to stay on the mission field and serve where God has called them. You can join as staff member's support team by donating on a monthly basis or with a one-time gift. Students International is in compliance with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) and all donations (from the US) are tax-deductible.
